I landed in Taiwan, a place where I encountered some of the most alluring stories. I learned that if one searches for the right people, they will be found.

While I explored Taiwan, there were hundreds of people I wanted to meet personally and include in this project. All of them had secrets that guided them to the places where they live and work now. Throughout the journey, I engaged myself with as many people as possible in order to challenge myself to learn more about communities and the people they contain.

Every page of this magazine contains a portrait of hard-working people. Their faces, aged with beauty and wrinkled with wisdom, portray the years they’ve experienced and the lives that I yearned to hear about. Their hands, calloused with the practical work and labor they’ve completed in their lifetime, represent their accomplishments that they worked so hard for.
